Last night, August 27, in the closing ceremony held at the Prishtina Railway Station were announced the awards of the 11th edition of Fest Film Kosova ‘Goddess on the Throne’ 2018. The ceremony opened up by an introductory word of the executive director of the festival Ms. Makfire Miftari, which later revealed the awards of this edition of the festival.
This edition had a rich program with different categories of films – short, medium, documentary, feature and for children. Part of this edition were also various professional workshops and an exhibition. The films were shown in three cinemas – the static train wagon, the train station, and the KSino Armata. The award ceremony was followed by a cocktail for the attendees with live music by Bashkim Gagica.
Jury composed of artists: Edwin Mingard (filmmaker, United Kingdom), Mark Norfolk (director, United Kingdom), Agim Sopi (director, Kosovo) – feature films; and Kimete Berisha (publicist, Kosovo), Naser Shatrolli (playwriter), Yll Berisha (director, Kosovo) – short films. In the category of feature films, the main prize of the festival by the jury was awarded to the Turkish production film “My Short Words” directed by Turkish director Bekir Bulbul. On a hot summer day, three children living in a poor Anatolian village go to a pit of spring, but they find it too small to swim. They have always wanted to swim in the large lake that can be seen from the village. While enjoying the view from the lake from the distance, they decide to go there by bike. However, this round trip will not be so easy.
